MISSION

Our mission at Grace Church is to “experience life transformation in Jesus Christ.” This is done by encouraging and equipping youth to be disciples of Christ and to go and make disciples for Christ: be one, make one.

We see this as our mission by Christ’s command in Matthew 28:16-20 – “Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’” (NIV)

STRATEGY

The way that the GCO Youth Ministry strives to fulfill this command is modeled by:

Disciple: Be One, Make One.

PASSION

Jesus said that we must abide in the vine (Christ) to be fruitful Christians and that apart from Him we can do nothing (John 15:4). Our passion as Christians is to be about loving God first as He Himself said is the greatest commandment in Matthew 22:37-40 – “Jesus replied, ‘”Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.’” (NIV)

RESULT

The way that the GCO Youth Ministry strives to fulfill this command is modeled by:

WHAT IS THE METHOD TO OUR STRATEGY?

YSS – Youth Sunday School (Jr. & Sr. High)

This is a time for students to interact with their friends, recharge from life, and grow in their relationship with God. This highly interactive teaching time is designed to engage youth with relevant issues. We meet every Sunday morning from 9:15 am – 10:20 am. The Sr. High meets in the youth room and the Jr. High meets next door. We do breakfast occasionally, too! Join us.

SOS Wednesday Nights (Jr. and Sr. High)

This high energy Wednesday night is where it’s at! From 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm this program rocks it out and is designed to engage students through a variety of activities specifically designed with youth in mind. This is where God and life come together. Come on out and join us at GCO for times of discussion, fun, or one of our Mystery Wednesday events on the last Wednesday of the month.

Life Groups and Hang Time (Jr. and Sr. High)

These groups are what you are looking for. Life Groups meet at the church building so that you don’t have to go far to experience community! We try to keep it small so you can share your heart. Sunday nights from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, youth gather to hang together and learn about a relationship with God and each other. Accountability and prayer are the highlight! Come check it out. The first Sunday night of the month we meet at Jeff’s house for dinner and group prayer.

Vision Team (Servant Leadership Team – Sr. High)

The Vision Team isn’t your typical youth activity. This is a by-application-only group of youth who are sold out for Jesus and desire to see Him shine through them in their everyday lives. We meet monthly for discipleship and ministry training so that we may be effective ministers to our peers. If you would like more information about the Vision Team or have questions on how you may join, give Rodney a call and he will be happy to help.
If you want more information regarding our youth program or if you have any other questions, feel free to contact Rodney Symes. He would love to talk with you about anything you may need or answer any questions you may have.
